WAYS OF ACCESS

Access to Epirus is an easy undertaking and is smoothly achieved through the road network, the 2 airports in the area, as well as by sea.

By road, Epirus is easily accessible via National Highways and provincial roads. From Athens, your journey will be comfortable and relaxing, since you will reach Arta in about 3.5 hours and Ioannina in

4 hours via the ultra-modern Olympia Odos and Ionias Odos motorways.

If your starting point is a city in Northern Greece from Macedonia or Thrace, then Egnatia Odos is your easiest and safest option. For example, the journey from Thessaloniki, which is entirely on the highway, takes about 3.5 hours to Ioannina. On daily basis, there are KTEL routes from Athens, Thessaloniki, Patras and other major cities of Greece to Ioannina, Arta, Igoumenitsa, Preveza, as well as many villages in Epirus.

By air, Epirus can be reached through the State Airport “Vassilevs Pyrros” in Ioannina, just 4 kilometers away from the city center, while just 10 minutes away from Preveza is the State Airport of Aktiou. Daily flights from Athens and Thessaloniki to both airports bring Epirus closer than ever!

By sea, the ports of Epirus ensure your approach through the Riviera, since ships to and from Corfu, Patras and several ports in Italy run routes to Preveza and Igoumenitsa. Specifically, passenger ships sail to the ports of these two cities from the Italian ports of Brindisi, Bari, Ancona and Trieste, which are intensified during the summer months.
